Renata Tomaz is a journalist and a PhD and Master in Communication and Culture (ECO/UFRJ). She is an assistant professor at the School of Communication, Media and Information at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV Comunicação Rio), where she works on the project Digitalization and Democracy in Brazil. She does postgraduate research in the Postgraduate Program in Media and Daily Life (PPGMC/UFF), investigating the relationship between media, children socialization processes and digital culture. Her research interests include social media and internet governance.
