Last Friday, FGV Comunicação, in partnership with Aberje and the Itaú Foundation, announced a new cohort for the professional master’s program in Digital Communication and Data Culture, focused on the Third Sector. The announcement was made during a masterclass titled “Social Impact and Communication”, featuring keynote speaker Mônica Pinto, Head of Education at UNICEF Brazil, and moderated by journalist Fabíola Cidral.
The event also included a roundtable discussion with Eduardo Saron, President of the Itaú Foundation; Paulo Nassar, CEO of Aberje and Full Professor at USP; and Marco Ruediger, Director of FGV’s School of Communication. The panel concluded by confirming the continuation of the partnership, which will offer 30 scholarships from the Itaú Foundation and 6 from FGV Comunicação to professionals working in the Third Sector.
With 25 years of experience in the Third Sector, Mônica spoke about cellphone use in classrooms, the current state of education in Brazil, and how communication can be a key tool for the Third Sector and education initiatives to broaden their reach and purpose: “Private social investment is a voluntary act. Communicating about these causes and the social return they generate is essential.”
