FGV ECMI participates in G20 event on information integrity

“Promoting information integrity: combating disinformation, hate speech and threats to public institutions online” was the topic of the seminar

Professor Victor Paia and the researcher Laura Pereira of FGV Comunicação Rio participated in the event “Promoting information integrity: combating disinformation, hate speech and threats to public institutions online” organized by the Digital Economy Working Group of G20. The event happened in São Paulo between April 30 and May 1. 

The event happened in parallel with the G20 and was an initiative of the Secretariat of Social Communication of the Presidency of the Republic in partnership with Unesco (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization). The main goal was to debate the current state of information spread in digital environments and propose initiatives on topics such as the sustainability of producers working with content of public interest, the regulation of the digital market, and the protection of electoral processes and public institutions around the world.
