Professors Dalby Dienstbach and Maria Sirleidy Cordeiro of the School of Communication, Media and Information at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV ECMI) have been invited by the Pernambuco Federal University (UFPE) to lead the workshop series “Search engines for social media analysis” on June 15 and 16. The workshops will happen at the amphitheater of the Center for Applied Social Sciences (CCSA). 

The invitation was made based on the work carried out by the DAPP Lab, a laboratory at FGV ECMI that monitors the public debate on social networks. The lab uses linguistic rules to guide and filter searches and data collection. In this context, the workshop "From words to data: search engines for social media analysis" aims to discuss language studies that can contribute to investigations within this universe. In addition, the event will be dedicated to presenting the development and application of linguistic methodologies in these searches.
